#6. Ralph Nader

The next name on this list hardly requires an introduction. He is none other than Ralph Nader, the talk show host. His name continues to echo in the walls, a testament to his doggedness.

For nearly forty years, Ralph Nader has made headlines in America as a consumer advocate, lawyer, author, and presidential contender, dubbed the “U.S.’ toughest customer” by TIME magazine.

Ralph Nader’s reputation as one of America’s most effective social critics began with the 1965 release of hazardous at Any Speed, a book that accused the car industry of making hazardous vehicles. It resulted in congressional hearings and the passage of a number of car safety laws.

Ralph Nader is making headlines regularly, calling for a special counsel to investigate the Enron scandal. He argues that Bush administration officials should have alerted the Justice Department and the SEC when Enron’s chairman raised concerns about the company’s problems last fall.

#7. John Avlon

John Phillips Avlon (born January 19, 1973) is an American journalist, political commentator, and Democratic political contender. He is a CNN senior political commentator and anchor, having previously served as editor-in-chief and managing director of The Daily Beast from 2013 until 2018.

In 2010, Avlon was a founder member of No Labels, a 501-citizens organization of Republicans, Democrats, and Independents whose aim is to address issue solving politics. However, Avlon has not been affiliated with No Labels since 2013, when he became editor-in-chief of The Daily Beast. In 2023, he wrote a blog for CNN criticizing the group’s probable third-party presidential campaign, calling it “an extraordinarily reckless risk at this particular time in our history.”

Avlon also belongs to Reshape New York, a group that advocates for redistricting reform to end partisan gerrymandering by “proposing an independent, impartial, and politically balanced citizens redistricting commission to draw fair district boundaries through a process that allows ample public input.”

Murphy, along with republican commentator Peggy Noonan and then-NBC reporter Chuck Todd, were caught delivering scathing analysis of Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin on September 3, 2008, following an NBC segment. All three were evidently unaware that their mics were still operational. Murphy described Palin’s selection as “cynical” in the audio recording.

During the 2016 election, Murphy founded and presented the Radio Free GOP podcast, which was frequently listed as one of iTunes’ most popular political podcasts.

#9. Adam Kinzinger

Adam Daniel Kinzinger (born February 27, 1978) is a former American politician, CNN senior political commentator, and Air National Guard lieutenant colonel. From 2011 to 2023, he was a United States Representative from Illinois. Kinzinger, a Republican, served Illinois’ 11th congressional district before moving on to the 16th.

Kinzinger is the only political commentator and member of the media who could adequately summarize this extensive list. Let’s just sum up by saying that he was saved for last; he’s the last, but he sure is strong, isn’t he? It is now up to you to read up and for me to provide you with the specifics!

Kinzinger was first elected to Congress in 2010, representing the 11th district. Following the 2010 census, his district was generally consolidated with the 16th, and Kinzinger shifted there after defeating the incumbent, Don Manzullo, in the Republican primaries.

After President Donald Trump was defeated in the 2020 presidential election, Kinzinger gained prominence for his outspoken opposition to Trump’s accusations of voting fraud and efforts to overturn the results. Moreover, Kinzinger was one of ten Republicans who voted to impeach Trump for inciting an insurrection during his second impeachment. He also voted to establish the Select Committee to Investigate the 2021 United States Capitol Attack, to which he was later named.

Kinzinger did not seek re-election to Congress in 2022. After leaving office, he became a senior political commentator for CNN.

What Do Political Analysts Do?

Political analysts (sometimes called political scientists) investigate how political systems emerge, develop, and function. They study and analyze governments, political ideas, policies, political trends, and international relations. Their research on internal politics, international policy, and social concerns informs and helps policymakers. Political analysts may also look into the reasons, cultures, values, history, and decision-making processes that underpin policies and how they affect US interests or national security.

Political analysts collect and interpret data, such as public opinion surveys or census data, in order to generate theories and assessments. They also keep up with current events, politics, and news to remain on top of any changes or shifts in public attention, as well as to forecast political, economic, and social trends.

Who Are Political Pundits?

A pundit is a learned person who offers opinion in an authoritative manner on a particular subject area (typically politics, the social sciences, technology or sport), usually through media outlets.

Suffice it to say that political pundits (plural of pundit) are individuals who provide insight with the prerogative (exclusive rights) particularly in the field of politics or related disciplines.

What is a Political Commentator?

Commentators are individuals who examine and discuss political and sporting topics. If you want to hear opinions about the news rather than the news itself, listen to commentators. A reporter gives the news, while a commentator discusses it, sometimes on the same news broadcast.
